The Sounds of Science lab safety video was done by some grad students at UC Berkley. Great job!

Brainiacs - Reactivities of the alkali metals. Very descriptive.

A short clip showing huge amounts of sodium being disposed of in Lake Lenore in the Grand Coulee area of Washington State in 1947.

Lab Safety

An older, but very accurate video showing reactivity of the alkali metals.

The Brainiacs - The Thermite Reaction
In this Brainiacs video the guys break out a mixture of aluminum powder and iron oxide, called thermite. An excellent display of the classic redox reaction.

The Brainiacs - Thermite and Ice
See what happens when thermite is allowed to react and molten iron pours onto a block of ice.

The Brainiacs - Thermite vs Propane
See what happens when molten iron lands on a canister of propane.

Sulfur Hexafluoride
This is a favorite video of mine.  Lance Lund, a professor at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, was asked to prepare a promotional science video for the college back in 1995 that was to air on a local cable access channel. All went well until he inhaled some sulfur hexafluoride (SF6).

Mythbusters - Sulfur Hexafluoride
Adam demonstrates the differences between helium and sulfur hexafluoride when he inhales each and speaks.

The Tsar Nuclear Bomb
The largest nuclear device ever exploded.

Early Nuclear Explosions
Early nuclear footage from the 1950's showing several detonations and the resulting damage.
